Who are the Palestinians?
The Palestinians count 15 million people. Half live under Israeli rule in Israel, Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The rest are refugees. They are descendants of people living there for centuries are indigenous to the area now called Israel and Palestine.
Who are the Israelis?
4% if the population in Palestine was Jewish when the Zionist movement began. They spoke Arabic, had been living in Palestine for centuries and where an integrated part of society. They where Arab jews. In 1948 the Israelis had become predominantly of European decent, but today the population also consists of jews from Russia, North Africa and other neighbouring countries.
Are Israeli Palestinians discriminated in Israel?
Property right, education, and employment are segregated and unequal. In 2018 Israel formalized Jewish supremacy in law, declaring only Jews have national rights in Israel. The racism is systemic and Jewish citizens enjoy superior rights to the 20% Palestinians that have Israeli passports.
Israel left Gaza in 2005. Why did October 7 still happen?
After Israel left Gaza they still controlled the air, the sea, the borders, the water supply, the electricity, the internet, and everything that went in and out of Gaza. Israel even kept a civil registry. It was a de facto siege. The Palestinians don’t want to be under siege. They want to be free.
